New Solar Energy Facility in Operation  -  11/3/2011

The new facility started operation on October 24, 2011. In the first year it is estimated to produce 2.1 megawatts of electricity and the system will ultimately produce, on average, 1.2 megawatts of electricity annually. The main partners on the project were Trane, Borrego Solar Systems, Valley Unique Electric and Gene Adams Paving. The hospital plans on operating the facility for 20 or more years, saving the hospital an estimated $2 million in electrical costs over that period.
