Visiting Hours: 2:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Daily
Madera Community Hospital welcomes all patient visitors. The hospital understands and supports
the need of family and friends to visit, however consideration must be given to the medical needs
and privacy rights of all patients. To allow patients adequate rest and necessary medical care,
in addition to maintaining Fire Marshal compliance, visiting hours are over at 8:00 p.m.; all
visitors will be asked to leave at that time.
After 8:00 p.m. all visitors must enter through Emergency Department.
Visiting Guidelines
- Only two visitors will be allowed at the patient’s bedside at a time.
- Cell phones are not permitted in the hospital.
- Visitors may not smoke in a patient's room or anywhere inside the hospital.

- A "No Visitors" sign may be posted at anytime to ensure the patient's comfort.

ER Visiting Hours:
ER Visiting Hours are dependent on the patient’s condition and the ER environment.
Upon registration to the ER, a Visitors pass will be issued to one family member.
Visitors may exchange this pass with other family members. Visitors are limited to
1 per patient, however if the patient is a minor they may have both parents accompany
them. Children will not be allowed in the ER unless being seen by the ED provider.
A parent or guardian 18 years or older must stay with children who are not a patient.
Upon discharge from the ER, the Visitor Pass will be collected.
ICU Visiting Hours:
ICU Visiting Hours are limited to 5 minutes every hour and no more than 2 visitors at
one time. Visitors are requested to wait in the main hospital lobby if the ICU waiting
room is occupied. All ICU visitors will be asked to wait in the main lobby after 8:00 p.m.
Maternity Visiting Hours:
Maternity Visiting Hours are between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
Siblings are allowed to visit during the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fathers or the primary
support person(s) may visit at anytime. Only Labor and Delivery coaches are permitted in
the birthing room and are required to wear a “coach” ID bracelet which will be provided by
the Labor and Delivery staff.
Medical /Surgical Visiting Hours:
Medical /Surgical Visiting Hours are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Only 2 visitors are allowed in
one room at a time per the Fire Marshal regulations. One of the 2 may be a child accompanied
by an adult. If a family member or support person needs to be with a patient after 8pm or
overnight due to the patient’s medical condition, a visitor’s pass wrist band will be
authorized by the House Supervisor. Family members of surgery patients are asked to wait
in the Surgery waiting area. Family members will be notified when the patient returns to their room.
