About the Physician
Bio
A California native, Dr. Jonathan Mayer received his BS in Cell and Molecular
Biology from UCLA in 1995. He went on to earn MD from St. George's
University School of Medicine in Grenada before completing his residency
at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Mayer is a veteran
of the United States Air Force Medical Corps, where he served for nearly
a decade before receiving his honorable discharge in 2015.
While stationed at Langley Air Force Base, Dr. Mayer became the GME Site
Director for all medical education within the OB/GYN department. In this
role he was responsible for the creation and implementation of core curriculum
for several regional institutions, and played a critical role in turning
Langley AFB from one of the least requested to one of the most requested
clinical rotation sites.
Dr. Mayer is a Fellow of both the American College of Obsterticians &
Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the
team that earned 5-Star Excellence from Healthgrades for Labor and Delivery
care at Madera Community Hospital during the 2017 reporting period.
Dr. Mayer's experience in both practicing and teaching the OB/GYN specialty
makes him an invaluable asset to our patients and practice alike. When
not at work, Dr. Mayer enjoys spending time with his wife and his three
young children.
