Hospital Seeks Applicants for Emergency Department Advisory Council
July 2019, Madera, CA: Madera Community Hospital is accepting applications
for a new Emergency Department Advisory Council focused on enhancing patient
experiences in the Emergency Department. Madera Community Hospital is
the only General Acute Care Hospital in Madera County, providing more
than 35,000 children and adults with emergency medical care each year.
The Emergency Department Advisory Council, EDAC, will be comprised of seven
to ten members and up to four Madera Community Hospital Employees and
members of the Medical Staff. EDAC members must be dedicated to partnering
with our health care providers to improve Emergency Department experiences
at Madera Community Hospital. EDAC is a voluntary and collective representation
of Madera Community Hospital’s service area and patient population.
Those selected to service on the Advisory Council do so to ensure the
patient and family perspective is applied for safe, high quality, patient
centered emergency care.
“Regular feedback from the community is important because it helps
us improve,” said Karen Paolinelli, Chief Executive Officer. “The
Council will create dialogue and help us gather ideas for continually
improving programs and policies to address healthcare challenges and enhance
the experience of our Emergency Department patients and visitors.”
Emergency Department Advisory Council members will be expected to attend a monthly
90-minute evening meeting and serve a two-year term. Individuals over
the age of 16 are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be committed to
building a partnership with Madera Community Hospital to better serve
the community at large. Previous leadership experience is not required.
Individuals interested in being considered as an Advisor can obtain additional
information and locate the application instructions on the Hospital’s website:
